MAHJONG OPEN PLAY at HOUSE of SWEET TEA & MAHJ is your ticket to mahjong in Tollgate Village. Whether you're a seasoned player looking for competitive games or a newer player eager to gain experience, our open play sessions provide a welcoming space to enjoy mahjong, meet fellow enthusiasts, and sharpen your skills.

Players are free to join tables, rotate between games, and play at their own pace throughout the session. Studio staff will be available to answer questions and help facilitate seating when needed. Bring your friends or come solo—open play is a great opportunity to connect with the local mahjong community in a relaxed and friendly environment.

All skill levels are welcome. Come for a game, stay for a few rounds, and enjoy the timeless fun of mahjong!

Some basic knowledge of American mahjong and the rules of The National Mah Jongg League are required. If you are brand new to the game, we recommend you attend our Mahjong for Beginners class before booking an Open Play Session.

What to Expect:

Friendly Self-guided Play- Low-pressure games with other mahjong enthusiasts.

All Materials Provided- Don't own a mahjong set? No problem! We supply tables for up to four players, premium tiles, mats, mahjong cards, dice, and shufflers. 

Access to Product Discounts- When you attend one of our sessions, you'll have access to our exclusive discounts on premium mahjong tiles and accessories. Some exclusions apply.

Light Snacks and Non-alcoholic beverages are included with open play sessions. Players are also welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks. Our fully appointed kitchen is available for setup.

BYOB: All events at Sweet Tea Candle Co. are BYOB.
